Scientific Activity
Development of bio- and chemiluminescent methods based on the use of immobilized enzymes for several analytes, including bile acids, ethanol, aminoacids, lactate, oxalate, antioxidants.

Ultrasensitive chemiluminescence imaging for quantitative localization of analytes in tissue and single cells using immunocytochemistry and in situ hybridization technology: applications in biochemistry, immunology and drug screening.

Development of immunological methods for steroids (estradiol, testosterone, progesterone, bile acid, cortisol, etc.), pollutants [benzo(a)pyrene, phtalate esters] and drugs.

Development of luminescent biosensor for 'ex vivo' analysis.

Development of biosensors and immunological methods for environmental analysis: rapid and sensitive detection of toxic compounds and pollutants.

Development of chromatographic methods including HPLC-mass spectrometry with electrospray interface, C13/C12 isotope ratio mass spectrometry. Applications on biological and environmental matrices and pharmaceutical analysis.

Bibliography
Author of more than 200 papers published in international journals on:
chemistry, biochemistry, physiology, medicinal chemistry and analytical chemistry on bile acids and development of new bioanalitical methods, immunoassay, biosensor, physical chemistry of bile acids, bio- and chemiluminescence.

More than 300 communications (oral or posters) have been presented at international congresses.
