Recently, a new chemiluminescent acridinium label, called OX7, has been synthesised and patented by Biocode Biotechnology (09700503). The originality of this label is its ability to modify hydroxyls in proteins, specially the thyrosine residues. OX7 is stable for commercial use after conjugation to antibodies. Several chemiluminescent immunoassays (ILMA) have been performed using antibodies labelled by OX7. An ultrasensitive TSH immunoassay has been developed using this label. The lowest serum TSH concentration, demonstrating a CV interassay of 20% (functional sensitivity), is quantified at 0.05 mIU/ml.
